In 2007, the Herbert Mahne Family Foundation was pleased to award the Firefighters Burn Institute a grant to develop a new burn recovery program for children ages 3 years old through 6 years old and their caregivers. This unique three day program will focus on healthy recovery and skill building activities, and has been designed specifically for preschool children who have suffered severe burns. For preschoolers, the program provides children the opportunity to socialize with other burn survivors. On site education,counseling and support for parents and caregivers will also be provided.
